Camp Sussex Round Dos.

Went back with Emma and Cat today. Although we had already see most of it our first trip the other day, we did get to check out the buildings across the street this time, have a picnic, get a bunch of books and a poster, and just fool around in general. It was a much nicer time than our first trip was, in my opinion. Not to mention, cat/emma and i are just such a cute group (hehe)

we were also questioned by two older men as we left the auditorium, and told them that we were photographing abandoned buildings for emma's AP art class/portfolio. she was so nervous she forgot the name of our school when he asked, hahaha. he told us to remember camp sussex as a place of life, though, not as just an abandoned building. after all, it's only been empty for the past 6 years or so. they're trying to find something to do with it, because they don't want it to just sit there without a purpose, but the town will only allow that property to go to recreational use. we'll see what the future holds.

Camp Sussex

went to camp sussex today up by vernon. after looking at the pictures online and comparing them to what we saw today, people really trashed the place after it was abandoned. it's a shame, but it definitely added to the weird vibe. i'd be interested to know what it would be like at night. we're going back on friday, though, to check out at the laundry house and some other things we missed, and just take a closer look in general. we're going to picnic there, too, so that's something else we can cross off our bucket list c:

Fairytale Forest

went to fairytale forest today down in oakridge (right by where peter lives!). we only got to see a small bit of it, only because we were pretty sure the men that were working on the other part of it saw us, so we left. it was so cute though, ugh. if you want to know a bit more of the background of this place, check out emma's tumblr post about it.
